Aggregates treatment and recovery

At our facility in Pradamano, in the province of Udine, we are authorized for the following processes for the treatment of  aggregates:

• selection and processing;
• washing operations;
• crushing of aggregates from quarries, excavations, and riverbed restoration;
• recovery treatments of inert waste. 

 We also handle the marketing and sale of construction aggregates.

In the area of Pradamano, the inert waste recovery plant is operational, authorized to receive waste from third parties resulting from excavation, earthmoving, and demolition operations, for the purpose of recovery.

The waste undergoes a characterization analysis, and then, after documentary and visual checks, it is sent to the storage area for safekeeping. In the subsequent phase, it undergoes recovery activities with a crusher (Komatsu BR380JG) which carries out crushing, screening, and iron removal functions, in order to obtain the suitable particle size of the material.

The material is subject to the analyses required by current regulations:

• transfer tests according to Annex 3 of Ministerial Decree 05.02.98;
• compliance according to the Ministerial Circular of the Environment and Land n. UL/2005/5205;
• compliance with the reference UNI standards. 

 The resulting material finally leaves the plant with a CE certification for use and subsequent reuse in road sub-bases and fillings.

In addition to loose aggregates, such as sand and gravel, there is the production and marketing of pre-packed mortars: pre-packed materials sector.

The inert material of various sizes is loaded onto an external hopper by a mechanical shovel, transported by conveyors to reach the inside of the shed, and deposited into specific hoppers, and then extracted and dosed. At the same time, cement, lime, and specific additives are extracted and dosed from dedicated storage silos (for the ùniko mortar line). Once the set weight is reached, everything is inserted into specifically preformed recycled plastic bags by the bagging machine.

The production of aggregates at the Pradamano site is accredited within the framework of the 2+ system with the certificate of Factory Production Control Conformity (Factory Production Control Certificate) – Certificate no. 1381-CPR-056, in compliance with Regulation 305/2011/EU, for the production of aggregates according to the standards:

• EN 12620:2002 – Aggregates for concrete;
• EN 13242:2002- Aggregates for unbound and hydraulically bound materials for use in civil engineering works and road construction;
• EN 13043:2002 – Aggregates for bituminous mixtures and surface treatments for roads.
