Also this year, the companies of Gruppo Luci participated in Ecomondo, the prestigious national and European event dedicated to ecological transition and circular economy. From 7 to 10 November, at the Rimini Expo, we had the opportunity to connect and share experiences with other environmental sector realities and key figures.
Gesteco, together with our companies Labiotest, Lod, Metaplas and Ecofarm, actively participated at our stand, located in pavilion D1, stand 108-208, with a dedicated space of over 95 m².
Ecomondo has proven to be the perfect stage to present the wide range of services we offer in the environmental and sustainability field.
During the event, we shared the latest innovations and illustrated our integrated approach, the result of years of collaboration with our partners and a constant commitment to listening to the needs of our customers. Furthermore, we had the pleasure of announcing our new partnership with the company Spei Srl of Bari.
Ecomondo was the ideal scenario to communicate the progress and objectives related to Gesteco's sustainability and the commitment to accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable economy through the publication of the first Sustainability Report, a document built on facts and impact measurement, in continuous interaction with stakeholders.
A first sign of this virtuous dialogue and exchange is the fact that 95.8% of the value created by Gesteco is redistributed. In particular, in 2022, 1.4 million euros were invested in business development. But also, more than 166 thousand euros were returned to the territory, an increase of 38% compared to 2021, mainly intended to support sports, schools, and forms of social and cultural awareness.
"Today we are a significant example of a circular economy in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, because our plants constitute a self-sustaining system: we are a virtuous operator able to enhance waste, materials, and refuse, giving them a second life in other processes. A true circularity," emphasizes Adriano Luci, president of the Luci Group and vice president of Gesteco.
The heart of Gesteco's commitment also focuses on environmental impacts: as of 2022, the company purchases only electricity from renewable sources.
